Human Rights Policy

Human rights are rights that are indispensable for people to ensure their existence and freedom and to lead happy lives in society. The corporate philosophy of Rapidus Corporation and its subsidiaries (“Rapidus”) is to “contribute to the fulfillment, prosperity and happiness of people’s lives through semiconductors.” Under this corporate philosophy, Rapidus declares that it will endeavor to respect the human rights of all people involved in its business activities and enacts the following Human Rights Policy (this “Policy”). The details of this Policy will be reflected in the Rapidus Code of Conduct and various policies and procedures.

  1. Support and Respect for International Norms

    Rapidus supports international norms concerning human rights such as the “International Bill of Human Rights,” which stipulates fundamental rights that should be enjoyed by all people in every nation, and the “ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work,” in which the International Labour Organization stipulates fundamental principles and rights at work, and Rapidus conducts its business activities with respect for human rights.

  2. Applicable Scope

    This Policy applies to all officers and employees of Rapidus. Rapidus will also require its suppliers, business partners, and other related parties to support this Policy and put its items into practice, and it will promote respect for human rights in cooperation with them.

  3. Respect for Human Rights in Business Activities

    In its business activities, Rapidus will respect fundamental human rights and diversity, prohibit all forms of discrimination, harassment, and violence, prohibit human trafficking, prohibit child labor, prohibit forced labor, respect the freedom of association and right to collective bargaining in accordance with laws and regulations of each region, appropriately manage employees’ working hours, holidays, and breaks, ensure minimum wage, ensure occupational health and safety, protect privacy, understand the entire supply chain, contribute to local society, and endeavor to ensure responsible procurement of minerals.

  4. Human Rights Due Diligence

    Rapidus will identify negative impacts on human rights and make efforts to prevent or mitigate those impacts through a human rights due diligence structure.

  5. Correction or Remedy

    If it becomes clear that Rapidus is causing or contributing to a negative impact on human rights, it will endeavor to correct or remedy that negative impact through appropriate procedures.

  6. Education and Training

    Rapidus will continuously conduct the education and training to its officers and employees that is necessary for them to put this Policy into practice.

  7. Dialogue and Consultations

    Rapidus will hold sincere dialogues and consultations with relevant stakeholders regarding the response to potential and actual impacts on human rights. It will also utilize independent outside expert knowledge to strengthen human rights endeavors.

  8. Information Disclosure

    Rapidus will appropriately disclose information on its website and other media regarding its efforts to respect human rights under this Policy and the progress thereof.
